This northwest corner of Cyprus is considered by many who live here to be the most beautiful part of the island.  We recommend that you visit the Akamas Peninsula, which begins at the Baths of Aphrodite. Most of the Akamas is wilderness and it is not recommended to attempt to drive on the road leading out onto the peninsula.

There are guided tours available in four-wheel-drive vehicles driven by experienced guides. There are also boat rides available along the coast of the Akamas. You can learn more about these at the little port of Latchi, but the best way to experience the Akamas is by foot.
